A further 5 cards are dealt and placed face down in the centre of the poker table and are known as community cards. These cards are shared amongst all the players and are used to improve their hand to make it the best 5 card hand along with their hole cards. Five is the usual amount of community cards in a Hold’em game. In the first round or "The Flop" round, 3 cards are placed in the centre of the table. A 4th card (the turn) is dealt and placed face up on the board. The next betting round begins The last card (the river) is dealt and placed face up on the board. A last betting round begins. The players who still remain in the game without having folded or thrown in their cards, then reveal their cards.
